Easy Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice (Fresh lime or lemon juice)
  • 6 Garlic Cloves (Grated or minced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper (Ground)
  • 1 pound Large Shrimp (Shelled, deveined, tails on or off (optional))

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, grated or minced garlic, ground cumin, red pepper flakes, salt, and ground black pepper until well combined.
  2. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss gently to coat them evenly with the marinade. Ensure all shrimp are well covered.
  3. Set aside to marinate for at least 20 minutes at room temperature. For a deeper flavor, marinate in the refrigerator for up to 1 day; if marinating longer than 20 minutes, omit the lemon juice until just before cooking.
  4. Preheat your oven broiler to high heat. Place an oven rack in the center of the oven.
  5. Arrange the marinated shrimp in a single layer in an oven-proof skillet or on a baking sheet.
  6. Place the skillet or baking sheet in the preheated oven and broil for approximately 3 minutes, or until the shrimp turns pink and opaque. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and enjoy!
