Ingredients
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour (Sifted, for a lighter texture)
- 1 tablespoon Baking Powder (Use fresh baking powder for fluffy pancakes)
- 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar (Adds a touch of sweetness)
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt (Balances the flavors)
- 1 cup Milk (Any type of milk works; adjust for desired consistency)
- 2 tablespoons Melted Butter (Adds richness; can substitute with oil)
- 1 Large Egg (Provides structure and moisture)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt to ensure even distribution and a lighter texture.
- Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the well of the dry ingredients.
- Gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay. Overmixing can develop the gluten in the flour, resulting in tougher pancakes.
- Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. The surface is ready when a drop of water sizzles and evaporates quickly.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot griddle for each pancake. Adjust the amount for your desired pancake size.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and bubbles start to form and pop on the top surface. The edges should appear set.
- Flip the pancakes carefully using a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown on the other side and cooked through.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
