Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Butter (Unsalted)
  • 4 cups Miniature Marshmallows (Fresh)
  • 5 cups Crispy Rice Cereal (Kellogg's Rice Krispies)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Be careful not to burn the butter; low heat ensures even melting.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and well combined with the butter. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent sticking or burning. The extended cooking time helps create a smoother, more cohesive mixture.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat.
  4. Stir in crispy rice cereal until every piece is thoroughly coated with the marshmallow mixture. Ensure even distribution for uniform texture and flavor in the treats.
  5. Press the mixture evenly and firmly into a buttered 9x13-inch pan. Use a buttered spatula, wax paper or your buttered hands to prevent sticking.
  6. Allow to cool completely before cutting into 2-inch squares. Cooling allows the treats to firm up, making them easier to cut neatly.
